Freedom Printing Opens Showroom
Freedom Printing and Specialty Thursday christened its brand new product showroom in a red ribbon ceremony complete with oversized scissors, compliments of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. The event, which lasted from 9 to 11 a.m., drew members of various local businesses who had either used the printing services before or were friends of Joel Tolley, who owns the business. Richard Haddad, president of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, was present to cut the ribbon and officially open the new showroom.
Freedom Printing and Specialty
The business, in operation since 2003 and located at 6400 Ridge Road, Suite 1, is tucked away in the back of Carrolltown Mall. It specializes in promotional products, or more specifically, products custom-tailored to help make the name of a business, school, athletic team or any similar organization more well know.
Tolley works with a variety of mediums to get this done, from coffee mugs to T-shirts to magnets. Of particular interest were can cozies in the shape of T-shirts with athletic team names placed across them and eco-friendly pens with cardboard shafts. But what stuck out most to this publication? The Eldersburg.net themed tote bag, of course.
While the wide array of promotional products would be enough to draw customers in, Tolley takes it one step further with good customer service and business expedience. “That’s really important – not just being able to deliver a product but to do it on time.”
What sets Freedom Printing and Specialty apart from similar business endeavors? Aside from Tolley’s extreme enthusiasm for what he does, he also said the business acts as an unpaid consultant to other local enterprises.
“What we really enjoy is figuring out what will help the customer’s business grow and make a plan to make this happen,” he said. “I'm not aware of any business in our county that does all that we do.”
Tolley most helps small businesses by sticking to what he knows best – advertising. He said a lot of small businesses make the mistake of trying to appeal to everyone as opposed to marketing to just those most likely to use them.
“We’ll talk with them and see what they are doing – then I’ll see if we can do it better,” he said.
The New Showroom
The main purpose of the new showroom, Tolley said, is to give customers a more tangible experience, allowing them to see up close and feel the various promotional items he has available. The showroom offers a depth that is not possible with the stagnant images offered by online or paper advertising.
Another reason for the showroom? “Not only will it increase the
customers desire to work with us, it will also let the customers understand
that we aren't just providing a product,” Tolley explained. “We are a
solution based business, ideas are part of what you will get when you work
with us.”
