Carroll County Earns Finance Award
Carroll Earns Finance Award for 24th year in row
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded Carroll County with a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the county’s 2008 comprehensive annual financial report. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. The association says the honor represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This is the 24th year in a row that Carroll
County has been recognized for its annual report.
In each year, the impartial judging panel has commended Carroll’s annual report for meeting high standards. The report demonstrates a “spirit of full disclosure” to communicate clearly the county’s financial
story.
“We strive each year to meet the high standards necessary to earn this award. Our residents deserve to
know that we carefully monitor and report how their tax dollars are working for them,” said County Comptroller Robert M. Burk. “
